Roasted in Hillsboro, Il
At Black Rabbit, we place the intense study and search for the finest beans available above all else; however, the cost of living in our hometown is extremely low. Which means we are able to give you the coffee you deserve at the price we all want.
The founders of Black Rabbit, Isaac & Bailey Reynolds, met through a mutual friend in 2010. Isaac was visiting from Guatemala where he lived for 9 years with his family who are full time missionaries. Bailey had moved to Hillsboro in 2003 when her family bought the Orpheum theatre. While Isaac was spending a childhood in one of the greatest coffee growing regions in the world, Bailey was part of a very successful entrepreneurial venture. Coincidentally, both of these childhoods was grooming them to own Black Rabbit Coffee. Isaac moved to the states in 2011 to attend college, and apprentice under a carpenter. However, in 2012 he moved to Hillsboro to be closer to Bailey(they had started dating by this time.) They were married in 2013, and purchased their roaster in 2015! They have both been to numerous coffee farms in different regions of Guatemala, and want to share their love for coffee with you!
